When We Were Looking

When I was out there looking
Seeking an end to being lonely
Looking for companionship
While you to were looking just to see

But we never searched together
We used different points of view
Both not quite together
Yet searching fiercely too

Why did I turn leftward
While you went right instead
What was it I was seeking
Why wouldn’t it enter my head

And silently we went on
Moving from quiz to maze
Never hearing each other
Our thoughts becoming a haze

Never would it be made
A single turn to see
What we both needed
It was never you and me

About Barbara Blackcinder

I am a poet/writer with a need for words. There are so many out there that I haven't used yet. They define all reality and mine when you read those from me.
