The Closing Passage

Alas, it is for naught, another joy ended
Love it seems, once more is suspended
We cry at the break, the sadness so deep
Our sanity, our reason, we seek to keep

But why is it always so hard to resist
Knowing the limit when first we kissed
Tearing our hearts when an end is in sight
But we push it away, to hide from the fright

Alas, at once it has happened again
Hiding the truth, the expected strain
And so we continue through as before
Closing the familiar, old swinging door

About Barbara Blackcinder

I am a poet/writer with a need for words. There are so many out there that I haven't used yet. They define all reality and mine when you read those from me.
