Complacency

Long has it been since I accepted a challenge

One of the writing variety

Seeking to stretch my creativeness

Showing a small part of me

The twisting of words, and structure

Of phrasing and paragraphs too

Making words fit into pleasant order

So that reading is possible by you

And without the challenge of twisting grammar

And suffering when it doesn’t go right

It lets me get lazy and passive

Hardly sufficient for good sight

So I will seek out some challenges

To rectify my complacency

To make myself a better writer

For better literature for you to see.
