What Is Your Goal in Life?

There’s something wrong when death is the goal

A pattern set into your very young soul

Something given by your parents and church

Enforced by fear that will always besmirch

A mystifying goal that will bring about an end

To millions of souls who can’t but pretend

To fear you because of your different ways

Counting your salvation by limiting your own days

Why can’t we see that is here that we live

Where it is to humans that we must ultimately give

That our focus should be to make this paradise

Would be a course so more infinitely wise

Turn our heads away from what is only a wish

And put our lives ahead of some eternal dish

Make this world that we know is a fact

Incredibly better than that other deadly tact

Wishes and dreams are okay for a thought

But not if it dictates that death must be taught

If it gives away our time in this existence

For a dream of someone else’s persistence

Live for the day and make it better for us

Without all this heavenly rewards type of fuss

What we claim we receive if we play religion’s game

As we end up in Earthly graves all the same
