Adrift and Anchored

I’m saddened from the refrain

(I fell in love as you see)

That nothing much has been gained

But it was just not to be

I wanted more than love

But was all too soon released

flying just as a dove

But yet it gave me no peace

It just wasn’t enough for me

I couldn’t hold on, and felt the pain

The game was just too hard to see

As one more time I lost it again

Like religion’s hold, it passed

Just as fleeting, the flying dove

When logic I held too fast

And left behind blind faith and love

About Barbara Blackcinder

I am a poet/writer with a need for words. There are so many out there that I haven't used yet. They define all reality and mine when you read those from me.
