NaPoWriMo 25 – A Catch Phrase

“If the shoe fits”, a revealing term

One that tells you of your innocence

Based on how it makes you squirm

And if your guilt is intense

I may say things that are pointed at you

Or perhaps in your general direction

Possible making you threaten to sue

If I am assuming some guilt detection

But it is net that can’t be pulled in

It can only be cast outward to catch

Anyone in the field in a lie or a sin

But without closing the latch

Yet in your response I can determine

How guilty you feel, but not always guilt

Hypocracy is kept to yourself is a sin

Upon which your reputation is built

So lie to yourself if you really must

Keep me from detecting what isn’t true

Hopefully guilt will cause you to bust

And you won’t have to try on the shoe.
