NaPoWriMo 20 – Hypocrites For Political Gain

Hypocrites, hypocrites,

Let us elect some more.

Cheaper by the dozen

We’ll build more Senate floor.

They pretend that they’re religious

For them it’s easy to say ‘Lord!”

We’ll fall on our gawking faces

And praise them with our brainless gourd

If we believe these soulless dolts

I know that we already do

They can build a stair from Heaven

To Congress over me and you

They sure don’t believe what they say

They say it only for effect

Somehow their winning is holy

Just according to their defect

But don’t you ever believe it

Because they surely know they don’t

They will end up with all of it

And there’s no doubt you surely won’t

Do see the pity in their eyes

The intended catch in their voice

There’s nothing truthful about them

It’s simply a lie by their choice

With no holiness there’s no soul

It’s called a demon or zombie

No matter what claims that they give

Their back is the most that we’ll see.

I am a poet/writer with a need for words. There are so many out there that I haven't used yet. They define all reality and mine when you read those from me.
