The Direction of Warp

The wind was blowing through my hair

The sun kept passing like a blinking light

People came and left without knowing I was there

Plants grew and died through many a day and night

I was caught in a time warp, as quickly as it passed

I couldn’t move which was quite a fright

I thought I was moving but I could see no change

Only my stiffened arm was still within sight

Everything else flew by at an unbelievable speed

But I only observed myself, try as I might

Then I realized that I had moved as I tried

But from instant to instant the motion was slight

While everything else went so quickly around

My own actions were quite small and tight

Only my skin wasn’t frozen in the warp

I watched as it changed, it didn’t look right

And then I realized that as the warp went on

I was becoming dust and my weight became light
